My Mission:
Empower.
Women make up close to 70% of the pharmacy profession, yet account for just 30% of leadership roles. “You can’t be what you can’t see.” We need role models and mentors so all women know they can make a difference and lead. I’m encouraging women to put their hands up and say, “I can do this!” without fear.
About Christine
BSP, ICD.D.
I am a Canadian pharmacist, entrepreneur, leader, public speaker, and advocate for women in business. I have owned chain and independent pharmacies, served as Chair of the Canadian Pharmacy Association (CPhA), and have led the advancement of many critical topics provincially, nationally, and internationally.
As a female leader in the pharmaceutical industry, my goal is to improve patient care through better management of healthcare resources and ensure women’s voices are heard loudly and proudly in a profession where leadership is male-dominated.
Features
Professional Experience
Throughout my career, I’ve served the pharmacy profession in many capacities. I was Chair of the Canadian Pharmacy Association (CPhA) from 2018–2020, Vice Chair of the CPhA from 2016–2018, and I currently sit on the board of the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan (PAS).
Along with my appointment as the North American rep on the World Pharmacy Council, my extensive professional experiences have allowed me to thrive and become a leader in the pharmacy and healthcare space to help amplify female voices in our industry.
Board Experience
Proudly holding my ICD.D designation, I’m passionate about supporting non-profit boards. A few career highlights for me have been as past chair of the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan (PAS) and the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), as well as taking part in mergers and acquisitions and unique financing rounds to help of some fantastic groups.
I’m always eager to share my knowledge and expertise, and I have extensive experience on both private and public boards which include:
Goals
I am fearless in my pursuit of advocating for the advancement of women in business, pharmacy, and the healthcare sector. With my experience in various roles, my entrepreneurial spirit, and my dedication to leadership, I’m here to mentor and support women to achieve their goals.
Speaking
I’ve had the privilege of leading speaking engagements nationally and internationally. Some highlights include speaking in Dubai about the opioid crisis and pharmacy services, in Australia about electronic health records and women in leadership, in Portugal about minor ailment prescribing, and in Toronto addressing the Women in Leadership Council.
Boards of Influence
With my extensive board and governance experience, I aspire to create a safe place and lead an exchange where women entrepreneurs can receive the support they need to grow and scale their business. My leadership background and influential networks serve as a powerful foundation for me to be able to create a movement that will uplift and empower women professionals.
Lead young entrepreneurs
I am incredibly passionate about helping young entrepreneurs be seen. I strongly stand behind “You can’t be what you can’t see.” If young women don’t see female leaders, they think it’s out of their realm. Throughout all of my achievements and milestones, I want to be an example of inspiration for promising entrepreneurs and shine a light on future possibilities.
Empower Women
Women make up close to 70% of the pharmacy profession, yet account for just 30% of leadership roles. We face huge challenges of getting our voices heard and having role models to look up to—it’s time to act! I’m dedicated to empowering women to grow and go after their goals by helping them get more board seats, flourish as entrepreneurs, and position themselves as leaders.
“
2020
I want to inspire women in pharmacy to set their goals high and build confidence so that they can achieve anything they want. Representation and a vision that builds confidence is one of my goals.
